Sue's Journey with The DVCC: “I’m now walking with my head held high!”

Sue hadn’t exercised for well over 30 years. She leads an incredibly busy lifestyle, heading from meeting to meeting, so exercise was never really on her mind. She felt overweight, unfit and hated the idea of stepping into a traditional gym…

But Sue was ready for all that to change. 


As soon as she walked through the door, she was met by people of similar ages, sizes and stories and felt immediately at ease. Since the start of this year alone, Sue has managed to lose over a stone and a half and is continuously pushing herself further with every session!

Since then, her friends, family and colleagues have all seen a difference in her body shape and weight, which in Sue’s own words: “That made me feel awesome! If I can do it, anybody else can too!”

"I'm now walking down the road with my head held high! My name is Sue Bellingham, I'm 52 years old. I  was very very overweight, got to the position where I figured that I needed to start incorporating exercise into my regime as it was because - because I was very, very unfit as well.

I was looking for somewhere that was different. Before I came here, I hadn't exercised for over 30 years. So I popped in and had a look around and kind of knew immediately as I walked through the door that this was a really good fit for me.

There were people here, men and women of all shapes and all sizes, and I immediately felt at ease. The staff here were brilliant as well. Very friendly. Very supportive and willing to take on somebody who probably hadn't exercised since she was a teenager.

My body shaped had changed, people were saying "You've lost weight." That made me feel awesome... Seriously! If I can get those sort of results after one month. then imagine how my life would change after a year say. Since the 1st January this year, I've lost another stone and a half in just 6 months, and my shape has completely changed again!

If I can do it, any body else can do it and I would say just start because it is so important for your health. So important!"

The Training Gyms is for men and women who want to lose weight, get fit but don't want to do it in a normal big box gym.
