Chris's journey at The DVCC: Consistency is key!

Fitness, Weight loss, People of the DVCC

Chris has been a client at The DVCC since we first opened doors over 10 years ago!

During that time, Chris has consistently been training twice a week, every week. For him, being able to stick to a regular training routine means that instead of having to ‘fit in’ exercise when he can, he knows that he is committed to getting in those 2 sessions a week, rain or shine.

This consistency means that when life does throw those little surprises in, he can adapt accordingly and keep progressing towards his goals!

Even after 10 years, we have still found ways to keep his personalised training programme interesting and varied, meaning he still leaves every session with a smile!

With a little consistency, hard work and dedication, anything is possible!

“I’m Chris, I’m 50, I’ve been a member at The DVCC since they started.

One to one training means that the team can focus more on me, and tailor my programme bespoke to me.

In the 10 years, I’m surprised that when they change the programmes you do in the gym, there is always something new that they throw in! You would have thought that after 10 years, you would have seen and done it all, but they always manage to mix things up a bit!

Getting into a routine means I can plan around it, commit to it and it is less likely to have those surprises. If I can set aside just two evenings per week, that makes it more consistent for me than trying to fit it in amongst things.

You do get to form quite close relationships with them. There’s times where I thought about not coming because I’ve not felt well, I’ve felt under the weather or I’ve got a sore back. They will fit the programme around you. It’s amazing what you can do even when you are injured!

It’s a great community, it’s not just somewhere that you come to get fit, you can come and have a cup of tea and slice of cake as well!”

Do you feel intimidated by normal gyms?

The big box impersonal gyms leave you feeling awkward, and lacking motivation to lose weight and get fit.

The Training Gyms is for men and women who want to lose weight, get fit but don't want to do it in a normal big box gym.

We know it's important. We just don't know where to start.
