Hi. This is Stephen from TheDVCC.com and today, I’m going to be answering a question that someone sent in via email just the other day, which is, “I’m a man, why do I store fat on my chest?”

Why Men Store Fat On Their Chest?

Now this has actually been posted to us a few times very recently. A lot of men, particularly in this country, finding that they are storing more and more fat on their chest, which actually did not use to happen about 20 or 30 years ago.

Aromatization Process Stores Fat On Men’s Chest

Now there is a really, well, there’s a reason for this and that’s actually due to the environment and people’s everyday nutrition habits, what we are finding is that a lot more men are actually turning their natural testosterone that they do have into estrogen. This is actually called aromatization. So storing fat on your chest is actually the aromatization of testosterone into estrogen.

Simple Strategies To Prevent Aromatization

Now there’s a few simple strategies that you can do and use to actually stop this happening and actually decreasing the amount of fat you have on your chest. One of those is to really increase the amount of cruciferous vegetables, green vegetables, in your diet. This actually helps detoxify the estrogens and actually helps you to stop aromatizing the testosterone into estrogen. So increasing the amount of green vegetables you have, such as broccoli, curly kale and things like that will have a big impact.

Supplementing With Zinc Helps Too!

Also making sure that you have optimal levels of zinc. So perhaps getting a zinc supplement will make a big difference. There is also some anti-estrogen types supplement that you can take that actually mimic what you get from green vegetables. But the easiest way to do it is actually to make sure that you really, really are trying to over eat green vegetables. No one actually ever put on body fat from having too much broccoli and curly kale, but you can really, really have a big difference on the amount of chest fat you have by increasing the amount of green vegetables.

What You Can Do

So the top two strategies would be to increase the amount of green vegetables you have and also to look into taking a zinc supplement. You can get that from any good health food stores and that will make a big impact on your chest fat.
