Hi. This is Mark from TheDVCC.com. Today, I’m going to tell you why when you start a new exercise regime, you can actually put on weight.

Expecting the Unexpected

So a lot of people start exercising and they carry on eating the same way that they have been eating and they expect to see dramatic result straightaway. Now when you start exercising, you’re body will have to adjust. They all start having to repair the broken down muscle that you create when you’re exercising, so you’re going to start forming muscle tone. Now this, actually sometimes, it leads to an increase in weight.

The Unfavorable Results of Bad Eating Habits

Obviously you want to be losing fat, but unfortunately due to a lot of metabolic damage caused by your previous eating, you actually may struggle at the beginning to lose fat, but you are going to increase muscle tone. So this could actually result in you staying the same weight or in fact increasing slightly but after you increase your metabolism by doing resistance work and by eating healthier you are going to then start losing fat and you’ll keep losing fat for the ongoing period.

The Myth Answered – Why Do You Gain Weight When You Should Lose It?

So this is the reason that you perhaps could find the fact that you put on a little bit of weight when you first start exercising and it can be disconcerting for people but as long as you know that as a possibility and you’re going to be losing fat in the oncoming weeks, then you should hopefully find this isn’t too much of an issue. So when you start exercising, realize that you could perhaps increase muscle tone and therefore your weight a little bit but that’s only going to be a short period of time before you start losing weight and start losing body fat for the future.
