Josh:   Hi, this is Josh from the Double Vision Conditioning Centre, and I’m here talking with Tara Morgan, who has recently completed the Rock Solid Race in Milton Keynes. So, a little bit about Tara; she’s been training with us for – how long now?

Tara:   About 5 months.

Josh:    And, in that time, how much body fat have you *lost?

Tara:   I’ve *lost 30lbs of body fat in total.

Josh:  Awesome! Let’s get on to the Rock Solid Race – when you first joined, 5 months ago, did you have any idea that you would be doing something like this?

Tara: No – I would have told them that I would never do anything like it, and I wouldn’t even sign up for it!

Josh:   Ok… What were your reservations before signing up?

Tara: Just generally holding the team back, not being able to run it or doing certain obstacles that I’ve never done before, and generally the challenge of the whole thing.

Josh:   And obviously – the mud!

Tara:   (laughing) It’s alright – mud’s fine!

Josh:   Talk to me on the day of the race – what did you feel when you woke up in the morning?

Tara:    Good! Really nervous, but then I knew that there was going to be a massive group of our team behind us, so it kind of reassured me a little bit. I kind of just wanted to stay in bed a little bit!

Josh:   How did you feel when you walked through that first tent, when you signed up and you saw all of the team standing together?

Tara:    A lot more reassured, because they were all wearing the same sort of things; you could just see all bright pink everywhere, which was really nice. And everyone was sort of really nervous as well, which kind of actually reassured you that it was ok to be nervous.

Josh:   So you weren’t the only one then?

Tara:    No

Josh:   How did you feel when you were warming up?

Tara:    Scared – didn’t want to do it! It was really good fun though; because the trainers there were really quite fun and cheering you on as well – and they made it fun by throwing mud at each other and relaxed the situation.

Josh:   How did you feel when you first set off?

Tara:   Kind of, didn’t know what to expect – kind of just saw these massive green acres in front of you, but really exciting and as soon as you stepped over the start line, your worries just disappeared and you just focused on the actual race, which was quite nice.

Josh:   Ok, that’s cool. How did the team help you as you went along?

Tara:    They were amazing! Everyone, even people that aren’t in our team, was helping us and we were all cheering each other on, and obstacles that we didn’t necessarily want to do, we all did together, and were cheering. And then Josh just chucked me over everything, and pulled me up everything!

Josh:   Happy to help!

Tara:    It was really reassuring that everyone else was behind you, regardless of what they were doing as well and, like I said, you weren’t holding anyone up at all, even people that weren’t in the team were still helping you.

Josh:   What do you think you gained from the experience?

Tara:    So much confidence, so much confidence it’s ridiculous. Also, knowing that you can do it if you put your mind to it and nothing is impossible.

Josh:   Good for you! So… will you be signing up to the next Rock Solid Race?

Tara:    Yes! Me and ???? said we would today – we are in it together.

Josh:   Any more plans to conquer anything you didn’t think was previously possible when you first joined?

Tara:   Probably just running the 5k – I think I’d quite like to actually train a little bit more and then potentially run some more, to actually get the running up as well.

Josh:   So this has kind of ignited what could be a new passion for you as well then?

Tara:   Yes – potentially

Josh:  Good – so, short and sweet there – that is Tara’s experience of the Rock Solid Race – we hope to see you at the next one – bye!
