Hi! This is Mark from TheDVCC.com Today, I’m going to ask – did Becks quit football for baby number five? I’m so sorry, I’m getting my headlines wrong. Today, I’m going to be talking about the 2-day diet again.

Intermittent Fasting aka Intermittent Dieting

So, I was actually driving along and my girlfriend was reading a fitness magazine and it was talking about the 2-day diet or “intermittent fasting” as it was calling it again. We’ve had a previous or done a previous video on this and it’s not intermittent fasting. It is actually intermittent dieting.

The Two 500-Calorie Days

So, basically, with this diet, you have two low calorie days and they’re 500-calorie days. And that’s very similar to LighterLife where I think they have you having 500 calories for a period of time. But with this intermittent dieting, you have those very low calories, and then you have the normal days. But, the foods they’re suggesting that you eat in low calories is literally like half a whole grain toast with jam, and then a shake and then very little food in the evening.

The Issue is People Don’t Know What to Eat

And the problem with this is you’re not fixing the issue, and often the issue is that people don’t know what to eat. They don’t know when they should eat it and they don’t know what types of food are going to help them with weight loss and with health for the long run. So they’re not going to fix that issue and when they stop this intermittent fasting/intermittent dieting, they’re going to go back to the same habits that they formed or have had for the whole of their life and have actually led them to want to lose weight in the first place.

Diets Cause Metabolic Damage

They’re also going to be causing more metabolic damage. So they’re going to be slowing the metabolism down, making it harder for them to lose fat in the long run. And we experience this a lot with the ladies that come to us and the men that come to us, that they’ve done loads of diets. Lots of different diets in the years previously, and this has actually caused their metabolism to slow down and then they actually find that come 40, 45, that they’re struggling to lose weight, doing the same diets that they used to do. And this is because they caused metabolic damage.

Resetting Metabolism through the Formation of Healthy Habits

So, what we do is we work on resetting their metabolism, giving them healthy habits. And this can take a little while because they’ve obviously had very unhealthy habits ingrained in them. But, once we’ve created these habits in them, they find that losing weight is actually very easy because they’re not focusing on the foods that they should eat. They just do it naturally because it’s a habit.

Identify One Habit That Would Give the Biggest Results

So, what I suggest for you is that you look at the foods you’re eating, the habits that you have in the day and identify what one habit you could change that will make the biggest results. So it might be that you don’t have breakfast. So you simply have a protein and fat breakfast such as eggs and salmon each morning and that would become your habit, and you’ll find that you’re going to be losing weight ongoing and without too much stress or hassle and you’ll maintain this weight loss for the whole of your life.
