Whats Is In Your Protein Shake? AND What Should Be In It?

There are thousands upon thousands of supplements out there.

Many of them have cool names to entice people into buying them and claim that they will get you into the shape of your life by just taking X, Y and Z each day.

With so much out there, how do you know what to trust?

Are the supplements your taking actually beneficial to your goals of building muscle tone and losing body fat?

OR is clever marketing getting the better of you?

Potentially the most sold and talked about supplement on the market are protein shakes

You can get so many different types of protein that do all sorts of things.

One to get you extremely muscly, one to reduce you body fat and keep you ripped, one to replace dinner and one which will help you on your diet... if you believe what the labels read you will be flyin

g to the moon by drinking them very soon!

Personally any shake that says "diet" or "low fat" on the label I would avoid as much as possible...This usually means that the fat content has been taken out and replaced with sugar instead. Remember that good sources of natural fat are not the enemy. Sugar is the enemy!

If your main goal is to lose body fat and increase your muscle tone you want to find a protein shake which has a low amount of sugar.

I have recently seen so many different types of diet whey (whey is a type of protein commonly used in shakes) which have more sugar than a mass gainer (mass gainers are for people who have a body type which makes it hard for them to increase their weight and therefore has a huge amount of carbohydrates in it, NOT something that you want for fat loss).

If you didn't look at the labelling you could fall into the trap of having a shake which is going to negatively affect your results. The reason for the sugar is to make it taste good. BUT I know I would rather not drink something that tastes sweet and lovely but makes me put on weight!

The DVCC has produced optimised protein especially for our clients to make buying protein easy and stress free...You can buy it through our online shop and be safe in the knowledge that we do not put any extra sweetners and focus purely on the protein content.
