Why You NEED To Swap Out Grains For Greens

How is your nutrition coming along? Do you find many of your meals contain dense carbohydrate vegetables such as potatoes? No problem!

Here's a great tip that will help you lose body fat fast and also help you become more healthy in the process is eating more green vegetables.

Especially cruciferous ones.

We all know that greens are good for you, but by swapping out things such as grains for and having the majority of your plate filled with raw or cooked green veg you may speed up your fat loss results dramatically!


WHY ARE GREENS GOOD FOR US?

Green vegetables hold a high amount of water and will help you to feel fuller for longer. They are very low in calories.

Don't quote us on this, but we would wager that you could eat a kilogram of green veg a day and not put on body fat (provided that the rest of your diet is aligned with the green veg) Green veg also have a great range of vitamins and minerals....So DO quote us on this.

 

Due to the low amounts of sugar in green veg they have a lower blood sugar response than grains and other types of vegetables. They will also alkalise your body which is very important, as having an acidic environment within your body causes inflammation which can lead to disease.

Broccoli
is a great food for fat loss. It is an anti inflammatory, holds a lot of iron, zinc and helps to remove the waste products that accumulate within the muscles following exercise. It also helps to detoxify excess estrogen.

Estrogen levels being too high can cause you to store fat around your bum and thighs.

Some other great foods for reducing estrogen levels are: brussel sprouts, bok choy and water cress.


Almost all cruciferous vegetables are rich in folate, vitamins C, E, and K, and fibre. Fibre is an important nutrient to incorporate if weight loss your goal, as it helps keep you fuller longer so you'll get less of those pesky cravings!

So give it a try! Next time you pick up the grains, or potatoes, give your plate some added greens instead! Your body will love you for it! 💚
