Is Your Starbucks Making You Put On Fat?

Written by Mark Gray | 23/04/14 04:48

Every week I look forward to my Starbucks day...Its a day where I take an hour out from being at DVCC Milton Keynes, and go and sit and have my favourite drink (Iced Zen Tea - green) and watch the world go by!

Potentially I need to get a bit more excitement in my life, but it also gives me a really good insight into why the UK is said to be on the brink of an obesity epidemic..But also why its not any of our faults!

I have been watching happy go lucky shoppers and stressed workers for weeks now in Starbucks, and after talking with a few they all have one thing in common...They have no idea how many calories are in their (almost daily) drinks.

Now as we always says its NOT always about calories, but when talking about drinks like Starbucks then calories definately DO count.

In our quest to help you know what you are drinking, we have compiled a list of the top 3 highest calorie Starbucks drinks.

Venti Signature Hot Chocolate - 690 Calories

Venti iced hazelnut mocha  - 599 Calories

Venti Frappuccino - 459 Calories

When you look into Starbucks drinks its quite shocking just how many "dead calories" there are in every drink...Its relatively fine if its going to be your treat for the week, but unfortunately you wont be able to drink one of these beverages almost daily and expect to lose weight...So what can you drink!?

An Iced Zen Tea!

Zen tea is Starbucks' version of green tea, add ice to it and POW you have a healthy, thirst quenching non calorie laden alternative...

...Give it a shot, and let me know. The only problem sometimes is the Baristas don't necessarily know how to make it so you may have to help them a little.

 Enjoy!
