How Will Alcohol Affect My Progress?

Opting for an alcoholic drink every so often will not kill you.

BUT even one alcoholic beverage per day can increase your chance of fat gain around your stomach.

If you really want to lose fat, especially from the belly, eliminating alcohol is a great move.

If alcohol cannot be eliminated opt for red wine, preferably spanish red wine as it is rich in antioxidants which improves blood sugar management in the body.

Red wine also contains resveratol, an antioxidant that has been shown to delay the ageing process and chronic inflammation.

Drinking alcohol effects your hormones - it increases cortisol which results in lower "androgens" (sex hormones) for both sexes.

Women with high levels of androgens and men with lower androgens are equally at risk for belly fat gain.

Alcohol affects the metabolism because when you drink it, your body puts all other metabolic process on hold until it has processed the alcohol.

Your body cannot convert the calories from alcohol to fat meaning it needs to use them up which will delay all other fat burning and energy use until the alcohol has been processed. For quick fat loss avoid all alcohol, but if it cannot be avoided stick with the red stuff!
