Today we bring you another inpsiring story of a DVCC client, this time it is 50 year old Amanda! She shows us all that it is never too late!

Hi I am Amanda Blundell, just recently turned 50 and working as a PA sitting at a desk all day!  I’ve been at DVCC for approximately 11 months now and I’m 24lbs lighter and 2 dress sizes smaller that when I started!

I have been on a diet most of my life and I was coming up to my big 50 birthday when I realised I didn’t want to be fat and fifty!  Most of my friends have health issues – diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis etc, and while I don’t have any of those, I wanted to keep myself as healthy as possible and put off having any of those medical problems for a long as I possibly can!

I was encouraged by another member of DVCC to come along and try the sessions and I loved it!  Although I ached in places I didn’t know I could ache and it was the hardest thing I’d ever done, I felt so amazing afterwards and I couldn’t wait to do it all over again!

I had been a member of a gym for 3 months before that and during that time I had managed 1 zumba class!  I felt like I’d finally found something I enjoyed.

What motivated me most was actually seeing my body shape change – that had never happened before!  You can’t help feeling motivated with Ross and Scott training you – they are the most amazing staff and are so encouraging!

My Biggest Challenges

Giving up bread!!  I could live off sandwiches..It takes a few weeks to get into the swing of going to the DVCC and eating healthy as your body goes into shock, but once it becomes a habit, you find you feel so much better – healthier, fitter, stronger and full of energy !

My Goals

I’m going on a big holiday next June with 2 other couples and my target is to look and feel great for that holiday and get into a bikini!  Also, Lucy and I want to be on your wall as the first ‘mother and daughter’ transformations!

I just want to continue feeling this good and this healthy. My doctor recently told me I have the blood pressure of an 18 year old virgin!  I’m assuming that’s good!!!!? :)

What Would You Say To Your "Old Self"?

To my old self I would say, stop wasting your money on faddy diets and find something you love doing and embrace it – you will surprise yourself !

And to anyone who’s considering joining DVCC I would say, just try it, you won’t be disappointed! It really does work!
