Hi. This is Mark from TheDVCC.com. Today, I’m going to tell you that eating gluten-free doesn’t always make you more healthy.

Getting Caught on the Gluten-Free Frenzy

Now, a lot of people are realizing they’re gluten-intolerant and that they get a bad reaction when they eat gluten-containing foods. We have been saying this a long time and in fact the last five or six years, we have been suggesting to our clients that they reduce the gluten that they eat or actually eradicate it completely. Now, you’ll notice that manufactures are continuing on to this and in the supermarkets, the gluten-free aisle is becoming bigger and bigger and actually I do remember having this conversation with my mother about five years ago where I told her that she will notice that people are caught on the fact that gluten is bad by the fact that the supermarket’s aisles are going to get larger and larger and this is really apparent in all of the local supermarkets.

The Truth About Gluten-Free Processed Foods

So the issue is that a lot of people think that just by going gluten-free, it makes them more healthy. So they just go to the aisle and they buy all the normal processed food but are not containing gluten and they think that this is going to help them with their weight loss efforts and make them more healthy. Now, sure they are not going to be having gluten which is great, but these manufacturers are chalking in a lot of sugar to these foods and they still are very, very processed.

Going Gluten-Free is Eating Naturally Occurring Foods

So we suggest to our clients to have naturally occurring foods and as unprocessed food as possible and these foods are actually naturally not going to have any gluten in anyway, but they are also a lot better for weight loss. So don’t think that just by going to gluten-free item, buying up all the same macaroons but they don’t contain gluten that you’re going to be losing weight and be a lot healthier because you’re just going to be having a lot of sugar. So make sure that the foods you’re eating are unprocessed. They are naturally not going to have any gluten in and they are going to help you with your weight loss efforts.
