So first things first - check out the amazing results that our clients have achieved over the last week at the DVCC:

Owain is now sub 10% body fat, which is an amazing achievement;

Eve has lost 7.8 lbs of fat, so very well done to Eve;

Big Phil has lost 25 lbs of body fat and is feeling super;

Grigsy has gained 13.6 lbs of muscle and has lost 13.2 lbs of fat, which is a phenomenal result;

Suzanne has lost 2.8% body fat in 14 days and is feeling great;

Lucy has lost 15% body fat - which is 46 lbs of fat - and gained 11.6 lbs of muscle, so a great transformation from Lucy!

Today we have a question from Shane. Shane asked, “How can I increase my metabolism?”

Great question!

Firstly, lifting weights will help you raise your metabolism. For every pound of muscle you build, you can burn an extra 50 calories a day just maintaining that muscle; this means that if you build 5 lbs of muscle, you’re burning an extra 250 calories a day just sitting down watching TV, so that’s great.

Secondly, stay hydrated. Adequate hydration will result in more fats being used for fuel while you exercise, and it will help aid your digestion, which will in turn increase your metabolism.

Also, make sure you are getting enough sleep. Under or over resting can lower your metabolism, so you want to make sure you are getting at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep every single night: not too much less and not too much more.

Drinking natural green tea and adding cayenne pepper and other natural spices to your diet will also help raise your metabolic rate and burn more body fats.

So, our question for you is:

What spices do you like putting in your food?

This has been Lewis at the DVCC; as always, have a great day.
