Are You In The Gap?

Written by Mark Gray | 23/06/14 06:30

Okay, you’ve made the decision; you are going to focus on making a physical and health transformation. We love that.

Here is what we don’t love.

You will automatically start measuring your physical progress. Be it weight loss, fitness, strength, how you look in the mirror…….Against perfection. As a Milton Keynes personal trainer I have seen it hundreds of times.

You have an ideal of how you should look in your head. Be it from magazines, movies, TV, your “thin friend that can eat what they want”. Even “when I used to play sport at University 30 years ago”

The problem is using this ideal as a measure immediately throw you into “The Gap”: The permanent distance between the ideal and the actual.

The use of the word “permanent” is important here as that is exactly what it is. The ideal will change, as you get fitter, stronger, lose weight.

Which is a good thing as it will allow you to set new goals and to continue to make progress.

It is not good, however, if that is how you measure your progress. With the ideal constantly moving ahead of you, you will lose track of all of the progress you have actually made.

Instead of skipping over your accomplishments, you turn them into electricity, or put another way, confidence.

This is one of the main premises of The Confidence Advantage™ that forms part of The Real You Transformation Process™ that DVCC uses.
