AFTER A 5% CHANCE TO LIVE, ANDY IS NOW TACKLING EVEREST

“It was 10 years ago with my stroke, and it was iffy as to whether I would survive or not.”

Andy added he had just “5% chance to live”

Fast forward to now, and Andy has overcome all of the doubts he had and is now set for his new challenge…

“ I’m tackling an Everest climb, I’m going to base camp, the highest you can go without any oxygen”

Andy comes into The DVCC 3 times a week, and he never comes and leaves without a smile on his face.

The stroke, which left his right side of his body paralysed, has never stopped Andy from chasing his goals and nor should it either.

“Hey, they are just physical things”

But one thing that stuck out when we chatted to Andy was how being part of The DVCC community encouraged him to get talking again.

And that is why our community is a truly special place.

Andy, you are a real life hero and inspiration to us all.

We WILL be cheering you on every step of the way!!

P.s. Take some pictures when you get to Base Camp 😁
