6 Simple Health Habits To Adopt Everyday

Life gets busy and we can often push ourselves to the bottom of the list. Healthy habits you used to have can feel a long distant memory.

BUT, we believe these 6 Simple Daily Health Habits are maintainable, energy boosting and will soon become something you don’t even realise you do.

Get yourself a hot drink and a notepad and let’s get you on the road to a happier, healthier you.

  1. Hydrate before you caffein-ate - We know how nice that morning coffee is, but by drinking a glass of water before you do this, it’s not only refreshing, but it can also help hydrate your body while aiding digestion and metabolism at the same time.
  2. Don't skip breakfast - This is something you may hear often, but having breakfast is key to a healthy day - preferably a protein packed breakfast in fact. A protein full breakfast benefits for many reasons: you’ll feel fuller, it helps with maintaining weight, managing blood sugar levels and sets you up for the day. Get those eggs cooking!
  3. Have a daily ‘you time’ - This doesn’t seem like a ‘health habit’ but we can promise you this will make for a much more productive and happy day. Schedule in 30 minutes to an hour of something you enjoy and will look forward too. Walking your dog, reading a book, listening to music, whatever you fancy.
  4. Make time to MOVE - This can be included in your ‘you time’ but movement is one of the best health habits you can adopt. It doesn’t mean you are training hard 7 times a week, but it’s more about taking time to move everyday. A walk, taking the stairs, morning stretches - it will always leave you better off. You know where we are when you want a good session!
  5. Mindfully eat - Sit down and enjoy your meal times. Try to avoid staring at a screen whilst you eat, actually look at your food and enjoy it. This way you are more likely to enjoy your meal and also, you will notice when you feel full and therefore be less likely to overeat. It's tough, but so worth it!
  6. Bed Time Routine - Sleep affects all areas of our life and so it is vital to have a great bed time routine to get you set up. This will be individual, but giving yourself an hour to wind down will set you up for the best sleep ever. Firstly, note down any thoughts you may have that will keep you awake. Things like hot herbal teas, putting screens aside, being in comfortable clothes...etc are some of the best ways to wind down.

There are so many simple ways to add a little health into your life.

At The DVCC we believe the process to a better you and a better body should be enjoyable, not limiting. You should feel safe, happy and always supported.
