Normal treatment is to prescribe drugs such as statins. However, these drugs whilst effective, also come with lots of often-serious side effects.

If you are wanting to avoid the use of pharmaceutical drugs to treat cholesterol try these three tips:

  1. Lower your inflammation - Inflammation is a common cause of high cholesterol. Avoid refined vegetables oils and low fat manufactured foods.
  2. Reduce your carbohydrate intake and replace them with grass fed meats, nuts and other whole foods. The more natural food the better. Bear in mind food should ideally only have 1 ingredient.
  3. Eliminate processed flours and refined sugar.
